TREXM was awarded the EPIC (Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning) project to install ten (10) BHGE Ultrasonic clamp-on meters at their flow station, OML30. This is to aid HEOSL to have knowledge of the volume of gas currently being used for gas lifting. Ultrasonic clamp-on flow meters are non-intrusive instruments that use acoustic vibrations to measure the flow rate of a liquid. There are two types, Doppler and transit time.
Ultrasonic clamp-on meters are ideal for processes where customers desire no direct contact with fluid or require no form of pipeline modification. During the installation of such flow meters, the client expects no form of downtime i.e. the installation and commissioning of such flow meters will be done during the operating conditions. These flow meters are also ideal for applications where low-pressure drop, chemical compatibility, and low maintenance are required.
The DED (Detailed Design and Engineering) kicked-off with site visits and appropriate analysis of available pipeline sizes and available straight run to ensure HEOSL obtains maximum meter accuracy and value for money. This also provided information for the manufacturing and production of the meters by our OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers). The procurement and logistics were handled by experts in our team, and our well-trained and highly experienced engineers are currently carrying out the installation and commissioning of the BHGE Ultrasonic clamp on meters. This is being done and will be delivered to HEOSL for their measurement within the project scheduled delivery date.
